Contagion is what Nebraska has been missing going on ten years now. Nebraska is located in the center of the country. It is almost equidistant from each coast as well as the Northern and Southern boundaries of the United States. It is the one place in the country where it makes the most sense to hold a convention. The first year of Contagion is our break out year. Or, as our subtitle states it's our Outbreak. The goal of Infected Entertainment, LLC is to bring a convention to Nebraska that is all encompassing. For a convention to succeed it has to meet many requirements. A convention has to be affordable. Who wants to spend all of their money just getting to the convention? A convention has to cater to the many unique and creative individuals who wish to attend. Contagion: Outbreak and subsequent Contagion conventions will cover a broad range of genres and media types including:

Infected Entertainment, LLC is not a bunch of white haired men sitting around a conference table dictating what's fun for the youth of today. We're young at heart adults who still, mostly, have our hair and are dedicated to the mission of bringing Nebraska the convention it deserves. We are dedicated to ensuring that everyone involved takes something home. The attendees, volunteers, vendors, artists, celebrity guests, etc... will all go home with stories of an experience unlike any other as well as prizes, swag, and so much more. This is not going to be your typical convention. A convention must be entertaining.

The process began with the question: What would you like to see at a convention?. Lists were compiled and studied and a lot of information was waded through. Then, other conventions were studied. Why? Because that's the best way to see what works, what doesn't work, what's missing, and what is perfect. What we found is that a lot of conventions left us wondering what we got out of attending. Sure, it's great to meet new people or hang out with old friends, but there was something missing. We found that people were paying admission to attend conventions that offered the same experience to be had in a coffee shop. Other conventions were great for seeing vendors, but they lacked substance and entertainment value. Some conventions relied heavily on fan groups to provide volunteers.

Contagion is different. Our first defining goal is to ensure that everyone leaves with something. Our panels are going to be unique in what they offer. Our goal is to not only inform but to teach through practical application. What does this mean? It means that instead of just sitting in a panel listening to a man or woman tell you how to draw a comic book we're going to give you the pencil and paper and take you through the process. We want to properly infect our attendees with an overdose of fun and excitement.

We want our volunteers to know that they are appreciated for their work. A common theme in many conventions today is to make volunteers pay to attend. Some conventions go so far as to charge volunteers to work at fundraising activities. This is not the Contagion way. Volunteers will have a lot of freedom in scheduling. Hours worked will be rewarded with more than just discounts or free admission. Contagion: Outbreak will have a reward system with cumulative prizes based on hours volunteered and worked. Why? Because the volunteers are the life blood of a convention and should be rewarded for their hard work.

The vendors at conventions bring in objects from areas around the country. You can always count on showing up at a convention and finding an object, toy, collectible, comic book or other object that you didn't know existed or thought you'd never see. Most vendors work from the start of the convention until the end of the convention with little time for breaks. We understand it can be difficult and plan on assisting our vendors wherever possible. Vendors will be treated with respect and any and all requests will be addressed promptly. We're not happy unless you're happy. What is a convention without an artist? Pretty boring. There are many talented people in the world and we want to share their work with the public. Artists will be offered opportunities to show off their talents in many different and exciting ways. On our website you will find an artist's section where we are promoting the work of many talented individuals. Artists who wish it can have prints made of "Contagion themed" artwork to have autographed at the convention.

Every convention needs celebrities, right? Contagion: Outbreak is no different. We love celebrities as much as anybody and it is our desire to bring the Midwest the best celebrities we can find. We are dedicated to finding celebrities who haven't had the opportunity to experience the hospitality and greatness of the Midwest. We have a reputation for treating people right and Contagion: Outbreak will be no different. We also want to make sure that everybody gets the opportunity to meet their favorite celebrity. Along with our interactive panels we will be scheduling meet and greets with celebrities as well as hosting fan dinners and breakfasts. There will be numerous opportunities to get to finally meet that person you've only been able to see as a projected image.

So what about the fans? What do you get out of it? First and foremost, Contagion: Outbreak is going to be affordable. We want you to be able to bring your entire family and have a great time. We will also be hosting numerous contests and competitions throughout the course of the convention. Some contests you will have to enter, but there will also be contests you may not have even known you were entered in. The members of Infected Entertainment, LLC have spent many years going to conventions and seeing what does and doesn't work. We have learned many valuable lessons and the most important of these lessons is that if you don't make your guests happy you are going to fail. Everything at Contagion: Outbreak is aimed at giving each and every attendee a unique and entertaining experience that will only be topped by the next year. This is our promise to you.
